Sewer backups can happen at any time, but they’re more likely to occur when your system is overloaded by repeat use in a short span of time. Oh wait, what’s that? Is it the holiday season that brings family and friends together for multiple feasts over the course of a month or two? Yes, yes it is. It’s the holidays, arguably the worst time for a clogged drain or backed up sewer.

At Big Blue Plumbing, we want you to have a happy holiday, so we recommend having your sewer lines inspected — before the feasts — with our state-of-the-art fiber optic camera. By scoping out the pipes we can see if your sewer lines are free from root intrusions and offsets — two common causes of backed up pipes. After taking a look we’ll either give you the thumbs-up all clear or discuss how to eliminate underlying problems.

What we don’t recommend is skipping an inspection and pouring a toxic cleaner down your drain as a preventative measure or quick fix. These drain cleaners are not only detrimental to the environment they often cause more damage to pipes, rarely solve underlying problems, and can be fatal to pets.

Our tip for a happy holiday? Avoid a sewer backup — schedule your fiber optic pipe inspection today!
